Why pursue a career in Allied Health?

It's a fact: the New York City job market is competitive. It's also a fact that the New York market is very diverse, with many existing and emerging opportunities for Allied Health professionals. Nursing assistants, phlebotomists, medical billing and coding professionals, surgical technologists, and medical and dental assisting are all Allied Health career fields in high demand in New York City.

The New York City Allied Health career market is vast. By contrast, several Allied Health career possibilities in New York City offer part-time schedules and shift work. Then, they have the option to pursue more education while they are already earning a viable living. So, once a nursing assistant certificate student completes the training program, he or she can work towards an associates or bachelors in nursing at the same time he or she is pursuing a career in Allied Health.

Many professional training programs, such as nursing school, are also competitive. They require high test scores to get in, and a lot of money to complete the degree. Allied Health training programs -- such as the nursing assistant certificate program -- are affordable, and do not require Harvard-level SAT scores or specific essays for application. Allied Health careers might be suitable for those busy New York City professionals who want to take advantage of affordable, fast, and practical career training programs.
